Disney+’s Marvel Series are said to NOT be Prequels

Disney+ is going to be having a lot of Marvel miniseries starring actors from the films, but with Loki being dead in the main timeline, some are lead to believe that his series is going to be a prequel. Rumor has it though, that the case could be very different.

According to La Buhardilla Marvel on Twitter, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that all the Marvel series coming to Disney+ will take place after the events of Endgame. Translated, the tweet reads:

Bob Iger has just confirmed that all [Disney+] series of Marvel Studios will occur after the events of 'AVENGERS: ENDGAME'.

Of course, we should take this with a huge grain of salt, but it would definitely make sense for a lot of the characters. Falcon and the Winter Soldier is no doubt taking place after Captain America has put his shield down, but it was speculated that both WandaVision and Loki would be prequels.

My guess is that WandaVision would follow Scarlet Witch as she tries out her reality bending powers to bring Vision back to life—resulting in a House of M type scenario; while the Loki series would follow the Loki that escapes with the Tesseract in the 2012 timeline in Endgame.

Though prequel series are their own kind of fun, I'd be much more interested in a movie that would further the story. It's my same stand on the Black Widow film; with movies like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, I'm just getting annoyed that every superheroine film has to be a period piece.

No release dates have been announced for Disney+'s Marvel shows.
