Disney+'s Loki Series Could Include Captain America

Loki may be permanently dead in the main MCU timeline, but he's still getting a series for Disney+. Rumor has it that the who will focus on Loki time traveling and just altering history to his will, but the Russo brothers are now hinting that the show could feature an appearance from Captain America.

Talking to Business Insider, Joe Russo explained that Captain America's mission to return the Infinity Stones could have something to do with catching the Loki who escaped with the Tesseract. Russo says:

"Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki… The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality."

There's also a possibility of this happening again:

Basically, this opens up the MCU to alternate timelines where different things happen to the same people in the main story. This could also be a set-up for the upcoming What If series for Disney+, an animated anthology show which will follow alternate realities of the MCU with one or two things changed in the timeline. Rumor has it that the first episode will follow Peggy Carter as she's the person who takes the super soldier serum instead, and she has Steve Rogers become her partner in the field, and he makes use of experimental battle armor made by Howard Stark—essentially making him the first Iron Man.

What's also interesting is, the show is said to feature voice talents of the original MCU actors. Fingers crossed the animation quality will be great. Something on par with Netflix's Love, Death, and Robots.

For now, we don't have a release date for the Loki series, but you can catch the God of Mischief in Avengers: Endgame now in theaters.
