Disney+ Hawkeye Series Gets a Working Title

Though he never got his own solo movie, Jeremy Renner is going to have his own Disney+ show with Hawkeye, and Disney is planning to have it come out late 2021. Just in, we have a working title for the series.

According to Murphy's Multiverse, Hawkeye has received the working title Anchor Point. The term actually refers to a thing in archery where the anchor point is a spot on the archer's face where they draw back the bow. We don't really know what the significance it has on the series, but I imagine we're going to get an origin story, likely that of new Hawkeye Kate Bishop as well as original Hawkeye Clint Barton.

Originally, Hawkeye was said to be looking for a start in late September, but ever since COVID-19 effectively delayed everything, it's still unclear when the series could start production. With the working title down though, I'm sure we can expect cameras to start rolling soon. I'm sure producers used the time in lockdown to work on pre-production and polish up the script.

Admittedly some were concerned that Hawkeye was going to get canceled after Renner caught himself in the middle of a controversy thanks to his ex-wife, but Disney looks to be confident in pushing forward; that being said, I'm sure they dug up as much dirt as they could, and if they're eager to push through with Renner, they probably realized they had nothing to worry about.

At least, that's the way I read it.

Hawkeye was originally set for a release in the fall of 2021 on Disney+.
