Deadpool 2's Rob Delaney Set to Appear in Detective Pikachu

Rob Delaney had played the loveably average Peter in Deadpool 2, and it looks like he's going to be working with Ryan Reynolds once again. Just in, he's confirmed that he's going to be appearing in Reynolds' next film, Detective Pikachu.

According to Radio Times, Delaney had admitted to his involvement in the film after he was outed by several sources to be part of the cast. He says, "That I can say… only because other people have been saying it. So, yeah, I am in that, yes."

We don't know who Delaney is playing yet, but he has said that his role doesn't involve any scenes with Pokemon. He explains, "My part takes place completely in the real world… So I didn't have to interact with any of those weird little whatevers."

What he means by "real world" is up to interpretation, but it is an interesting choice of words. Does Detective Pikachu take place in an alternate reality? Will it be giving us a look at the "real world?" That's just unnecessary complications if you ask me—especially for something like a Pokemon movie.

Reactions have been a bit mixed when it comes to the photo-real Pokemon, but I'm sure everyone will be onboard once the movie starts rolling. A lot of people love the look of Detective Pikachu already, and I think that's the most important part.

"The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe."

Catch Detective Pikachu in theaters May 10.
