David Harbour Says He's the ‘Weak Link’ of Black Widow

Probably one of the most exciting characters to be introduced in Black Widow is David Harbour's Red Guardian, who is essentially Russia's version of Captain America. With an esteemed cast which includes the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, and Florence Pugh, Harbour laments on how he's the ‘weal link' of the cast.

Talking to Empire Magazine (via Fandom), Harbour had this to say about his Black Widow co-stars, "They all have f--king Oscar nominations. I do not, thank you very much. I am the weak link."

To recap, Weisz has won actually won one Oscar, with Pugh nominated for one, and Johansson with two nominations. Though Harbour hasn't been nominated for an Oscar (yet), he does have nominations for the Emmys as well as a Golden Globe nomination—all for his portrayal of Hopper in Stranger Things.

If anything, Harbour has kind of become the internet's favorite dad, and I'm sure Hollywood has some more fun roles for him in the future. Personally, I loved him as the new Hellboy, and I was kind of bummed that film flopped in the box office. Hopefully his performance in Black Widow will solidify him as a bankable actor.

At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.

While the delay is inevitable, Black Widow is still set to hit theaters on May 1.
