Daisy Ridley was ‘Hysterically Crying’ in Her Last Day of Shooting Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Everyone was introduced to Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015, and we're set to see her arc finish come this December. The movie has been teased as an emotional end for the Skywalker saga, and Daisy Ridley herself said that she got emotional offscreen as well.

Talking to GMA, Ridley admitted:

" John [Boyega] wrapped, so I was already like hysterically crying. And then I wrapped and I did a speech and I cannot remember what I said. I kept going I'm really sorry I'm really sorry, the whole crew was there, it was like embarrassing. and obviously, people recorded it I still can't tell you what I said. [something unintelligible] I'm really excited."

Though it's common for actors to get emotional working with the other actors, I kind of like how Ridley mentions the whole crew behind the camera—who are the unsung heroes of every movie.

We don't know how The Rise of Skywalker will end, but I'm hoping that J.J. Abrams paves his own way for the franchise and not make the film a retcon of The Last Jedi that a lot of fans are hoping for. The good news is, Abrams has said that Johnson's installment had inspired him, and he says that it was TLJ that kind of influenced him to try more risks with this film as compared to the "safe" movie that was Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker when it hits theaters Dec. 20.
