Child's Play Continues to Poke Fun at Toy Story 4 with Grim New Poster

Besides the release of Toy Story 4, June will see the arrival of another toy-centric movie, Child's Play, but it won't be all warm and fuzzy. With both films coming out on the same day, the marketing for Child's Play has been poking fun at its competitor with some grim teaser posters.

Check it out:

That's obviously the butt of Slinky from the Toy Story movies. Earlier this month, we got another poster with what looks to be a knock-off of Woody. With the films a month away, I'm curious if Child's Play has any other characters they want to reference in the posters—my next guess is probably Buzz Lightyear.

For now, it looks like more hype is building up to the release of Toy Story compared to Child's Play. Even with all that marketing, I'm sure there's no way a horror movie could compete with a family friendly romp from Pixar of all studios. There is a kind of changed element of the film bringing together a group of kids to fight Chucky, but I'm sure the movie is still going to end up ridiculously violent.

After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother -- a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.

Child's Play and Toy Story 4 come out on June 21.
