Cheetah’s Final Look in Wonder Woman 1984 is a Mix of CG and Practical Effects

One of the things that WB is keeping a tight lid on with Wonder Woman 1984 is the final look of Kristen Wiig's Cheetah. Though some leaks have come out online, we have yet to get an official look at Barbara Minerva. What's interesting though is that director Patty Jenkins has given us some new details.

On Twitter, Jenkins reveals that the final look of Cheetah in the film will be a mix of CG and practical effects. She posts:

Admittedly, a lot of people are still perplexed that Wiig would land the role of Cheetah. With her being best known for her comedy work, it's weird that she would be cast as one of Diana's more physical foes. Then again, I suspect that Wiig is needed mostly for Barbara's characterization, and when she becomes a Jellicle Cat, all they really need is a CG body double.

If it weren't for COVID-19, we would have actually stopped asking these questions a long time ago, and now it feels like DC is just endlessly marketing the movie until its eventual release. If anything, it looks like they're sticking to the October release date, and if Mulan's sales do well with Disney+, I think we could be looking at a digital release in other countries that still can't open theaters. That's just my guess anyway.

For now, fans wait for the release of Wonder Woman 1984 on Oct. 2.
