Though The Dragon Prince may not be as popular as Avatar: The Last Airbender now, it still got popular enough for Netflix to order a second season. Just in, we have a look at early concept art of main characters Callum, Rayla, and Claudia.

Check them out:

Probably the character who looks more like her the final product is Claudia complete with her black outfit and long hair. Some fans, however, would have loved to have seen her in pants like in the concept art.

The looks for Callum and Rayla are notably different, with Callum having a less baggy outfit and Reyla having more horns and fewer face markings.

For now, probably the biggest criticism that can be given to The Dragon Prince is the animation style. With a series like Avatar under his belt, a lot of people were expecting a lot from TDP creator Aaron Ehasz. What does shine with the series though, is the fantastic world-building and great characters. By the time you finish the first season, you find yourself disappointed that they didn’t give it more episodes.

When it comes to the animation choice, I have a feeling this is because of the upcoming game that’s set in the same universe. We don’t have any solid updates on it yet, but I have a feeling that the game will feature the same animation style as the series. Hopefully, we get an official announcement come 2019.

Catch The Dragon Prince now on Netflix.
