C-3PO and R2-D2 Star in Teaser for Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Game

Besides Star Wars: Squadrons coming out this October, ILMxLAB has revealed their own incoming game for the Oculus Quest called Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge. We have a new teaser and it features everyone's favourite protocol droid and Luke Skywalker's trusty astromech.

Here's the official description:

In Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, you'll play as a droid repair technician who crash lands on Batuu after a pirate attack. In typical Star Wars fashion, you'll quickly get swept up into a grand adventure on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost.

You can converse with Seezelslak (Bobby Moynihan) in his cantina and be transported to other places and times in the Star Wars galaxy through his legendary tales. Or, you can receive important missions to complete in the wilds of Batuu, encountering new and iconic characters along the way, like the pirate Tara Rashin (Debra Wilson).

Unlike Vader Immortal which has players wielding a lightsaber, it looks like this game is going to be for the fans who prefer blasters and explosives. You get to wield an array of weapons and gadgets; personally I had no idea you could actually use that training droid as an actual weapon.

With the game also taking place on Batuu, I expect the layout to be exactly like the theme park expansion, but it's likely we'll get to see some more fantastical elements that can only be pulled off in VR.

No release date has been set for ILMxLAB's Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, but you can expect it to be available for the Oculus Quest this coming holiday season.
