Breathtaking CG Short for Star Wars: Squadrons Looks Like a Scene from a Film

While The Mandalorian Season 2 hits Disney+ at the end of October, Star Wars fans are going to be treated by EA Motive with the release of Star Wars: Squadrons. While the game isn't out yet, we do have an amazing cinematic CG short for the game, and it's great to get some new Star Wars content during this pandemic.

Meet one of the ace pilots you'll fly alongside in STAR WARS™: Squadrons in this original standalone CG short, made in collaboration by Motive Studios, Lucasfilm, and ILM.

I have to say, after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, there has been a discernable drought of new Star Wars content; we don't even have a trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian yet. While we don't have a tentative release date from Disney, this short is sure to keep that Star Wars hype up.

As someone who prefers pilots and bounty hunters to Jedi and Sith, I'm actually pretty excited for the release of this game. While some are complaining about the scope of Squadrons, I think it's great that EA would try to pander to the more niche members of the fandom. Not everything has to be about lightsabers and Force users. Sometimes you just want to get in a cockpit and shoot ships in space.

Star Wars: Squadrons will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Oct. 2.
