BossLogic: What Luke Cage’s Mahershala Ali Could Look Like as Blade

It looks like Marvel is completely cutting all ties with the Netflix shows since Cottonmouth actor Mahershala Ali has just been cast as the new Blade for the MCU. We don't have any official promo images yet, but BossLogic has given us his take on what Ali's Blade can look like.

Check it out:

Clearly there's still a lot of influence from the Wesley Snipes Blade, but I'm sure Marvel is going to try to set their version apart. No doubt it's going to come with less shades and trench coats, but I'd be interested to see if they can bring that kind of style back without making the movie feel like it came from the 90s.

Maybe it can be a period piece? I guess it would be fun to see a Blade with the green pants and brown trench coat from his first appearance in The Tomb of Dracula. I'll also be wanting an afro to complete the look.

For now, no release date has been announced for the Blade film, but it's said to be one of the closest coming after Phase 4; likely to come out Phase 5. Then again, some fans are starting to feel skeptical when it comes to these slates because so much can change in the span of a few years. Heck, we were supposed to get the Inhumans movie November of last year, but where is it now?

No release date has been set for Blade, but you can catch the closing of Phase 3, Spider-Man: Far from Home, in theaters now.
