Black Widow Poster Officially Released

Natasha Romanoff may have died in Avengers: Endgame, but Marvel is bringing her to the spotlight next year with the solo Black Widow movie. A poster had been given away back at D23, but with the Disney+ launch, Disney has decided to release the photo officially online.

Besides Black Widow, the poster also includes the other main players of the film including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Rachel Weisz (Melina Vostokoff), David Harbour (Red Guardian), and whoever is playing Taskmaster. It's also rumored that Tony Stark will make an appearance via stock footage from Civil War, and it's also likely we'll get to meet Secretary Ross (William Hurt) again.

Just in case you didn't know, the film is going to be a period piece, but it doesn't take place as far in the past as you think. In fact, the timeline is set just after the events of Civil War before the time of Infinity War, and it's likely we'll have Natasha teaming up with Steve Rogers and dyeing her hair blonde at some point in the movie. My speculation is that we'll have Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova accepting the mantle of Black Widow by the end of the movie.

Black Widow is probably one of the least appreciated characters in the MCU, and some even forget that she's been in the franchise even before Thor and Captain America. It's about time she got a solo film, and I hope this feels like a proper story rather than something that the studio was forced to produce.

Catch Black Widow when it comes out on May 1, 2020.
