Black Panther Star Lupita Nyong'o Pays Tribute to the Late Chadwick Boseman

Everyone is still in shock at the loss of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, and tributes have been going out for the actor in the form of free screenings and heartfelt posts. Just in, Lupita Nyong'o, who played T'Challa's love interest Nakia in the film, has posted a tribute to the late actor.

Here's the post:

It really was a shock that Boseman would be gone so soon, and it didn't help that he was secretly undergoing treatment for colon cancer as he was working on Black Panther and the two Avengers films. What's even more tragic is that Boseman was said to be confident that he was going to beat cancer a week before he passed away. Now he's left a huge hole in the entertainment industry that has definitely left everyone feeling a bit lost.

If anything, Boseman has left such a lasting impact even if his career wasn't the longest. He managed to provide a superhero for young black kids everywhere, and he had also helped tell the stories of real-life heroes like Jackie Robinson. He has definitely left a legacy behind, and there's going to be a lot of pressure on whoever is going to be taking up that mantle soon.

As for Black Panther, a lot of people are hoping that Marvel doesn't recast T'Challa and just incorporate his death into the story. While it would be too early for Letitia Wright to be the new Black Panther, I couldn't think of any other way to handle the character. Do you think Winston Duke's M'Baku taking over would make sense?

The Black Panther sequel is currently sitting on a May 6, 2022 release date.
