Birds of Prey Test Screenings Have Been Getting Positive Reactions

While everyone is waiting for Joker to come out in October, some fans have their eyes set to the film that comes after that, Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey. The movie is set to come out early 2020, and it seems that test screenings have been going pretty well for the film.

As per Discussing Film:

Of course, having great test audience reactions don't necessarily mean a movie is going to do well at the box office. It was said that reactions to Batman v Superman were overwhelmingly positive, but by the time the film came out, it was divisive among the audience. There was also a lot of talks that the cut of Suicide Squad that was shown to test audiences was way different than the one we got in theaters.

If anything, it seems that DC is finally sticking to its guns and respecting the directors' visions this time around. If you watch the early days of the DCEU, it was like every film after Batman v Superman became rash edits in reaction the audience reception in the last movie—culminating in the dumpster fire that was Justice League.

For now, everyone is hoping at a first look of the new DCEU slate at SDCC 2019. While I'm expecting a full trailer for Joker, I'm also hoping we get teasers for Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984. Is it too much to ask for a synopsis for The Batman or an update on the release of the Snyder Cut?

Birds of Prey is set to come out Feb. 7, 2020.
