Birds of Prey: Story and Character Details Revealed

The Flash may have seen a significant delay in production, but DCEU's Birds of Prey seems to be going smoothly. The film is set to shoot early next year, and we have some possible new plot details and character descriptions from the film thanks to Revenge of the Fans.

This is said to be the plot:

"After splitting up with The Joker, Harley Quinn and three other female superheroes – Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya – come together to save the life of a little girl (Cassandra Cain) from an evil crime lord."

Just in case you haven't been following news on the film, the crime lord in the film is said to be Batman villain Black Mask. Though he's one of the more obscure characters in Batman's rogues gallery, that doesn't make him any less dangerous. The character is a known sadist, and has literally driven people insane with his methods of torture.

As far as character descriptions, we have this:

"Black Canary (Jurnee Smolett-Bell) is a singer who fights crime at night.

Huntress(Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was a killer for Black Mask right up until discovering that he killed her family. So now she's hunting him down.

Harley Quinn(Margot Robbie) is trying to move on from The Joker (who is referenced, but not seen).

Renee Montoya(Rosie Perez), on the other hand, is on Huntress and Black Canary's trail because of the body count they've amassed."

Cassandra Cain is also considered to be a member of this Birds roster, but for now, she's the only character who hasn't been cast yet. Hopefully they get someone by the end of the month since the actresses still have to undergo training and rehearsal before shooting starts early 2019.

After the success of Wonder Woman, WB is carefully trying to see how they could bank in on their female superhero IP. Besides Birds, we also have films like Supergirl and Batgirl in development.

Catch Birds of Prey in theaters Feb. 7, 2020.
