Birds of Prey: Dana Lee Talks His Character ‘Doc’ and His Relationship with Harley Quinn

Birds of Prey definitely has a star-studded cast which includes the likes of Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ewan McGregor. The movie also has an appearance from veteran actor Dana Lee, and he talks a bit about his new character "Doc."

Talking to Your Entertainment Corner (via ComicBook), Lee explains:

"I play a character named Doc, I own this little restaurant and my residence is above it… Every time Harley Quinn gets in trouble with the Joker, she would come and stay with me. I'm like her Taiwanese grandfather."

There's even a set photo of Harley hugging who could very well be Doc:

Though Harley is portrayed as a villain the films, it's kind of interesting to see how she interacts with these other non-villain characters. While I still expect Doc to be his own kind of criminal (maybe he's a smuggler or drug-dealer), it would be nice to see a more human side of Harley that isn't that crazy.

For now, everyone is waiting for a trailer reveal at SDCC 2019 later this month. While nothing official has been announced, I think a teaser reveal would make sense, seeing that the film is slated for a release early 2020. At best we get a full trailer before 2019 ends.

Birds of Prey is slated to hit theaters Feb. 7, 2020.
