Before Bill Murray, Zombieland was Supposed to Feature an Epic Cameo from Mark Hamill

Bill Murray's cameo in the first Zombieland was probably one of the greatest cameos ever made in a film, but did you know that the scene was originally supposed to feature Mark Hamill?

Thanks to writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, we have an alternate version of the scene where Columbus, Tallahassee, and the rest of the gang run into a zombiefied Mark Hamill instead of Murray. Here's the start of the thread:

You can read the whole thing here.

Unlike Murray, Hamill was supposed to appear as a zombie, and his zombie ends up in a lightsaber fight with Columbus. Tallahassee takes up a Tusken Raider Gaffi Stick, and ends up "killing" Hamill. What's funny is, before he takes him out, Tallahassee repeats a line from Return of the Jedi, saying, "…and now young Skywalker, you will die."

Hamill apparently turned the scene down, prompting the writers to come up with something else. The Star Wars nerd in me would have loved to watch this scene, but the scene with Murray pretending to be a zombie and getting shot is still absolute gold.

For now, it looks like Zombieland is done with the sequel. I don't really know where else they could take the story at this point, and to be honest the sequel didn't really add too much to the first one either. In any case, maybe they can add the scene in Deadpool 3, should Disney let them handle the film again.

For now, you can catch Hamill in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which hits Blu-Ray/DVD on March 31.
