Bad Boys for Life Directors Interested in Helming Blade or Deadpool for the MCU

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah had made a hit with Bad Boys for Life and are steady rising stars in the industry right now. With the status that comes with directing a Marvel Studios film, Arbi and Fallah were asked which franchise they would take over should they be given a chance.

Talking to Discussing Film, the pair have shared that they would like to take on either Deadpool or the upcoming Blade film. When asked if the interview was their open call for an upcoming Blade or Deadpool film, Arbi replied:

"Well, if you do something like that it's a high responsibility as well. If they say, yeah you'll do Deadpool. It's not as if we're going to just say yeah – we'll say "Oh sh*t". But we love these characters. They're also rated R characters."

We haven't really gotten any significant update from Marvel when it comes to these projects, and for now, it looks like Disney and Marvel are still trying to figure out where their R-rated titles are going to stay when it comes to the MCU as a whole.

Some suggest that the characters should remain R-rated in their solo films, but get toned down for appearances in more PG-friendly films. There's also the idea that the more adult-oriented Marvel films get released on Hulu rather than Disney+.

With the pandemic still going strong, Marvel or Disney can't really make any solid plans as of now, but hopefully we get a significant update when things start getting back to normal.

No release dates have been announced for the next Deadpool film or the upcoming Blade.
