Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art Shows Off U.S. Agent-Inspired Costume for Captain America

The great thing about Marvel films is that, with such rich lore from the comics, the movies are always filled to the brim with Easter Eggs and references. For Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America almost had a costume that was inspired by comics' US Agent.

Check it out:

I love how they translated the comic into a more modern look, and they even found a way to add the black star on the top right breast. Add to that a helmet and a shield and we would've gotten a great new costume for Steve Rogers.

I'll admit, I was a bit bummed out about Roger's get-up in Infinity War. It was basically just his Civil War outfit with the colors muted. With it being frequently said that Rogers had already given up the Captain America mantle at that point, it would have been cool to see him don an entirely new suit to further cement his distancing from the Captain America name.

I guess people still wanted audiences to recognize that he was still Captain America? Whatever sells more toys.

Though we never got to see this outfit on film, I'm hoping it pops up somewhere in the future. With US Agent being one of the top Avengers in the comics, I can imagine him making an appearance in that Falcon/Bucky miniseries that has been announced for Disney+. Fingers crossed this outfit makes it.

Catch Captain America in Avengers 4 when it hits theaters May 3, 2019.
