Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art Imagines a More Ape-Like Thanos

One of the great things about Thanos is, despite being a CGI character, he looked so astonishingly real in Avengers: Infinity War. As it turns out, some concept art reveals a more comic-looking Thanos, and his features almost make him look like an ape.

Check him out:

Probably one of the most distinctive features of this look is that Thanos has a very wide mouth—almost the same as the one that he has in the comics. I bet it's already pretty obvious why this look was dropped; I'm sure the filmmakers wanted something more consistent when it came to Thanos' final look. Though we already met Thanos in the first Guardians of the Galaxy, we still recognize him in Infinity War despite the altered facial features.

When it comes to the final look in the film, I thought Thanos had very human-like features, and that's why he's so interesting to watch whenever he comes onscreen. At some point, you can even convince yourself that you're looking at Josh Brolin's face underneath all that CGI. To be honest, I wasn't so keen on Thanos' look up until his debut in Infinity War.

For now, we're expecting to find out what Thanos has been up to since The Decimation. We know that the heroes are going to reverse what he did, but I kind of wish that Thanos got to sit in his victory for a good long while. I hope we get a few years of the world trying to cope with half the population gone. It would be a waste if the Avengers managed to fix everything in just a few weeks.
