Avengers Endgame: Russo Brothers Comment on the Soul Stone/Black Widow Plothole

Probably one of the biggest plotholes in Avengers: Endgame was the question of what Captain America does with the Soul Stone when he supposedly returns it to where it came from. Did he bring it back to Vormir to get Black Widow back? As it turns out, there's no such way to make that exchange.

While trying to slam this theory of Cap actually marrying Natalie instead, MCU Cosmic's Jeremy Conrad posts:

If anything, Cap doesn't necessarily have to return the stones to where they originally came from, but just to the same reality. We don't have any official confirmation, but I can imagine he just drops the stone off in Asgard when he's giving back Mjolnir to that reality's Thor. I mean, where else would he leave it? It would be too dangerous to just leave another stone on Earth with SHIELD.

While you could say Avengers: Endgame had a lot of plotholes when it came out, further dissection of the film actually gives us a lot of answers—if you're creative enough. How did Thanos end up transporting an entire ship through the Quantum Portal? He probably had tech to duplicate Pym particles. Was there a Captain America in the main timeline that grew old while all the action was happening? Probably.

Just remember that overall, the film was pretty solid, and no amount of plotholes are going to "ruin" it—unlike Game of Thrones 8.
