Avengers: Endgame Featurette Covers the Creation of MCU's Captain America

The release of Avengers: Endgame comes with a lot of special features, and one featurette covers the creation and evolution of Chris Evans' Captain America from The First Avenger all the way down to Endgame.

Check it out:

Though Evans is now solidly the face of Captain America, his casting came out a bit confusing to fans when it was first announced. The featurette doesn't cover this, but Evans had previously played Johnny Storm in Fox's Fantastic Four franchise, and seeing how he plays a reckless "bad boy" character in those films, it was weird to see him be the ultimate boy scout for the MCU. Then again, once the movie started rolling, everyone was immediately sold with Evans as Steve Rogers, and the rest is history.

Personally, I kind of miss Evans playing the less-than-noble types in films. Besides Johnny Storm, he was also one of Ramona's Evil Exes in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. He was also the comic relief Jensen in the Losers movie (which also starred Guardians of the Galaxy's Zoe Saldana and Thor's Idris Elba).

With his tenure as Cap over though, it looks like Evans is ready to take on less wholesome roles again. He's set to star in Rian Johnson's Knives Out which comes out later this year, and the trailer has Evans repeatedly telling people to "Eat shit," with a perfectly smug look on his face.

For now, Avengers: Endgame is available on digital, but will hit Blu-Ray/DVD on Aug. 13. Knives Out hits cinemas Nov. 27.
