The cool thing about Disney+ is it gives subscribers access to deleted scenes from films, one of them being Avengers: Endgame. Besides the scene where Tony Stark meets adult Morgan, there’s another deleted clip that has Black Widow and Hawkeye fighting off Thanos on Vormir.

This is the beginning of a three-part thread:

To break it down, Clint and Natasha hesitate about who gets to sacrifice themselves, but they’re forced to decide quickly when Thanos and his henchmen arrive. A firefight ensues with Natasha getting shot several times; she gets to the cliff when she sees Thanos arrive, then she jumps, sacrificing herself and securing the stone with Clint.

It looks like the almost put the scene in, granted on how complete the VFX is, but the Russos ultimately scrapped it to give us the more intimate exchange with the two characters. Though I think both of them fighting each other to decide who dies was kind of corny, I guess it was the best way to send Widow off, counting that she was also a good fighter, and she had no significant action scenes throughout the entire film.

Though Widow was kind of sidelined in Endgame, it’s nice that Marvel is finally giving her a solo film with Black Widow next year. Hopefully, we get to see Natasha pass the torch, and we could have a new Widow for the Avengers by the time the next team-up happens.

For more of these deleted scenes, you can check out Disney+, available now. Black Widow hits theaters May 01, 2020.
