With Bethesda currently under fire for their release of Fallout: 76, Obsidian, the original creators of Fallout and Fallout: New Vegas, have released a trailer for their PS4 exclusive game The Outer Worlds, and it looks very interesting.
Here's the official description:
In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
Like I said, the trailer has some serious Fallout and Rick and Morty vibes. Besides the gritty-looking world out outer space, you also get a look at some wacky aliens and funky looking planets. Heck, the guy doing all the narrating even looks like Rick.
I have to hand it to Obsidian, they are really good at building up fascinating worlds when it comes to their games. They decided to conjure up a future that looked like the 50s with Fallout, and now with Outer Worlds, it looks like they're mixing the wild west with space. I mean, Firefly's done it too, but where's the video game?
No release date has been announced for The Outer Worlds.
