You'll notice that Maul is actually brandishing a fixed version of his original dual-bladed lightsaber. Some fans actually noticed that the newer half of the blade comes from a rejected version of Asajj Ventress' yellow lightsaber from the cancelled Dark Disciple Arc. Though we may not be getting that story in animation, it's a great nod for fans who like to stick to the details.

We don't know how long the Siege will take, but we do know that the finale is going to be overlapping with the events of Revenge of the Sith, particularly Order 66. With the show covering the entirety of the Clone Wars, it's only fitting that we get events that take place in the middle of the film, up until Anakin has the droids shut down on Mustafar.

Here's an official description of the episode:

Ahsoka leads Republic clones to confront Maul's forces on Mandalore, while Maul senses the impending chaos and makes a calculated play to ensure his own survival in "The Phantom Apprentice,"
