Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Announced, With Bane As The Villain

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a bizarre crossover that managed to work in pretty much every level. DC and IDW have now announced a sequel series Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, with Bane as the villain this time.

Like the series before it, James Tynion IV and Freddie Williams II will be the creative team for the sequel. Tynion IV has been doing a really good job with the Dark Knight, as fans of his acclaimed run in Detective Comics will point out, so it's good to see him return. Williams II visuals helped the comic become a success as well, so his return is just as important.

The story starts off sometime after the series, with Donatello looking for Batman to help him become a better fighter. Donnie manages to open the portal that lead to their meeting in the first place, but also inexplicably lead Bane to their universe, and he's ready to attack. Can Donnie and Batman arrive in New York and stop the Venom-obsessed villain? Fans will have to read the series to find out.

Issues #1 and #2 of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles 2 come out on December 6 and 20 respectively, before settling to a monthly release.
