Batman V Superman Beats Deadpool and Guardians of The Galaxy's Global Box Office Records

Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice continues to dominate the global box office records as it just surpassed Fox/Marvel's Deadpool ($758M), The Amazing Spider-Man ($758M), Guardians of the Galaxy ($773M), and the original Star Wars ($775 M).

Batman V Superman had significant drops for two consecutive weeks at the domestic box office, which led forecasters to believe that Deadpool's $380 million domestic might be too hihg to beat for the DC superhero blockbuster, but the huge opening weekend and the global popularity of both Superman and Batman gave the movie about $500 million internationally. With its $296M at the North American box office, the filmed earned a total of $783,485,542, over $28M more than Deadpool's global box office record.

Batman V Superman also became the highest-grossing Superman film after surpassing Man of Steel's domestic total, but it's unlikely to beat Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008) and Dark Knight Rises (2012), both of which grossed over $1 billion globally. The film is projected to earn $800M to $1 billion, which the studio is hoping to earn after spending $400M budget for it.
