Batman Film In Jeopardy As Ben Affleck Enters Rehab Yet Again

The DC Extended Universe may have encountered a huge speed bump. Ben Affleck, who is expected to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in The Batman, has just checked into rehab once again.

According to TMZ, the Justice League star had entered a live-in rehab facility after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner reportedly staged an intervention on April 22. Garner went to Affleck's home in Palisades and the two left together to go to the rehab center. Affleck was reportedly eager to get help as Garner drove him to the center. An image even shows that the 13 Going On 30 actress got her ex-husband some take-out from Jack In The Box before he checked in.

Although fans are relieved that Affleck is seeking help for alcohol addiction, we still can't help but worry about the future of the planned Batman standalone film. The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star was previously enthusiastic about the project but recent reports suggest that he is no longer eager to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader. The news of Affleck checking into rehab might confirm that the actor has no plans of coming back as the Dark Knight.

There have been speculations that Bruce Wayne will be recast in the upcoming Batman film. War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has been confirmed to direct but the filmmaker has not offered any updates about The Batman just yet. Nevertheless, people are hoping that Affleck will manage to complete rehab and begin work on the movie right away.
