Batman Actor Ben Affleck Set To Executive Produce The Justice League


Oscar-winning director Ben Affleck is now on board the Justice League movies as executive producer.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has confirmed that the 43-year-old actor, who played Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will reprise the role in the two-part Justice League films, will be joining the creative team of the upcoming DC films.

Affleck will reportedly be working with director Zack Snyder as well as screenwriter Chris Terrio in crafting the story of Justice League, with production currently in the works.

The new position further sets Affleck's role as one of the key players in Warner Bros' huge DC franchise.

Aside from appearing in Dawn of Justice and an upcoming appearance in the Justice League movies, the actor will be making a cameo in this year's Suicide Squad. He will also be helming the standalone Batman movie, with a script he already penned.

The actor's impressive filmmaking repertoire includes the Oscar-winning independent film, Argo,as well asThe Town and Gone Baby Gone.

Batman v Superman underwhelmed critics and some fans during its release, but with Affleck on board the creative team of the movie's sequel, the future of the franchise seems brighter.

Aside from Batman v Superman, the Justice League movies, and Suicide Squad, Warner Bros.' big plans for the franchise includes standalone films including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Flash.

Justice League Part One is slated for release on November 17, 2017, while Part Two hits theaters on June 14, 2019.
