BB-8 Shows Off His Ship-Fixing Skills In New Commercial

Star Wars fans were pretty enamored by Poe Dameron's (Oscar Isaacs) ball-shaped droid in The Force Awakens. The beep and booping astromech became the film's mascot, rolling around in sand accompanying Rey in her adventure in the very first installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Though the two formed a pretty close bond in The Force Awakens, it seems like BB-8's going to be busy helping out Poe in The Last Jedi and it looks like the droid's going to be pretty handy company.

Lucasfilm might have been keeping The Last Jedi's secrets close to its chest, but now that the film's moving closer to its premiere the studio's been more open to sharing new clips taken from the highly anticipated sequel trilogy installment.

One of the new clips the studio's released focuses on BB-8. Revealed in a new Verizon commercial, fans get to see BB-8 fixing Poe's ship while the Resistance's ace pilot flies into battle.

Disappearing for a large portion of The Force Awakens, Dameron didn't have much time to show off his TIE fighter skills, but it seems like the pilot's going to get more screen time in The Last Jedi now that he's being trained to lead the Resistance by General Organa (Carrie Fisher).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
