BB-8 Feels Lonely And Depressed Because Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Porg Mania

A lot of Star Wars fans might be wary to the cute little things in the Star Wars franchise, but it seems like some are starting to warm up to The Last Jedi's cute little sea puffins, the porgs.

However, while fans are slowly starting to like to these wide-eyed cuties, The Force Awakens cute mascot, BB-8, seems to be a bit afraid that the Porgs might drive him out of his seat as one of Star Wars' icons of cuteness.

Last night The Late Show With Stephen Colbert decided to open last night by imagining how BB-8 might deal with the growing Porg-mania, and the resulting video doesn't look very nice. BB-8 looks like he needs a friend. Maybe a porg or two.

Then again, BB-8 shouldn't worry. Sure it might end up sharing its fame with the porgs, but BB-8's evil twin, BB-9E, is also making its debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so that ought to keep the droid busy.

Knowing how BB-9E's going to accompany the First Order, it's kind of hard to imagine BB-8 and its evil twin getting along, but who knows really – things might change by the end of The Last Jedi.

Hopefully, there'll only be an appropriate amount of focus on the porgs in The Force Awakens sequel.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres on December 15, 2017.
