Avengers: Infinity War Confirms Thanos' Gauntlet Plans, Guardians, & More

The hype train is already on its way for the biggest blockbuster to hit 2018. Marvel has just released a new video teaser that gives a sneak peek for the Day One of production for Avengers: Infinity War.

And while it doesn't contain any movie footage, we do see a lot of the planning, the set, and even the major players who will be on the massive ensemble cast. January 23 marked the first day of the set, and we hear Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, and of course, Marvel big boss Kevin Feige talking about what's in store for the movie.

"What we always try to do at Marvel Studios is we're building a cinematic universe is look at the big picture, how can things relay across movies and across years. Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the entire Marvel cinematic universe as started in May of 2008, with the release of Iron Man 1. And it really is an unprecedented culmination of a series of films interlinked together, which at the time has never been done before. And for us, the important thing is making it all come together."

Feige also confirms that Thanos has been in the cards since he was teased in the first Avengers. And he also harks back to the role of Captain America: Civil War, which brought that one moment that humanized a lot of the major players, while also dividing them into different camps and rendering the Avengers group as a name of an empty shell.

This vulnerability is something intensely felt, perhaps just as intensely as the incoming threat that only Tony Stark seems to be completely and correctly paranoid about. And this is where we see a lineup of Iron Man suits, perhaps his preparation for the incoming face-off.

Best of all, we see that teaser of Thanos. He is really set up to be the biggest bad, and because of that we also need a big bad roster. And cue in the confirmation that Guardians of the Galaxy will join in the fray with the rest of the Avengers.

Marvel wasn't messing with us. Every step of the way was, indeed, a foundation towards this massive undertaking. Just seeing Thanos take hold of the Gauntlet at the end gave me chills.

Avengers: Infinity War is slated for theaters in 2018.
