Avengers: Infinity War Becomes 4th Film To Join The $2 Billion Club

Avengers: Infinity War might be at the end of its run in cinemas, but it looks like the film is still making waves at the box office.

Now, close to its 7th week in cinemas, the first film in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie has just passed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office. According to Forbes,Infinity War did a pretty good job during its theatrical run, reaching $2 billion during its 48 days in cinema – one day longer than Avatar and six days earlier than Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Now at the $2 billion mark, Avengers: Infinity War just needs $69 million or more to move up the list of highest-grossing films and outperform Star Wars: The Force Awakens and its $2.068 billion gross.

Still, even if the film doesn't manage to beat Star Wars during its run, Avengers: Infinity War did pretty well for its self, becoming the 4th film to ever reach $2 billion at the box office. It's also difficult to forget how the film made waves left and right the moment it started screening in cinemas, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Fate of the Furious during its opening weekend.

Avengers: Infinity War is a success in itself, and it's definitely exciting to imagine what Marvel might have prepared for everyone in Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
