Avengers: Infinity War Actor Wants to be MCU's Moon Knight

Moon Knight has become a popular character to discuss, now that the MCU is entering its fourth phase. While we still have Ant-Man and The Wasp, Captain Marvel, and Avengers 4 next year, some fans are already looking towards the future. Is Marc Spector's crazy alter-ego going to be a part of phase four? Infinity War actor Ross Marquand hopes so.

During an interview with Adventures in Poor Taste, Marquand revealed that he's a big fan of Moon Knight, even though his friends are quick to point out that he's a Batman ripoff. This might have been true early on but recent years have proven that the Marvel anti-hero can have original adventures that feel nothing like a Batman story.

"Oh yes–Moon Knight! It's tough because a lot of my friends have said Moon Knight is essentially just Marvel's answer to Batman, but I don't agree with that. I agree that there are similarities, but Moon Knight was a mercenary–kind of a gun for hire who didn't really have much regard for people before he had his moment of awakening, I guess. And Bruce was always a good guy–even as a kid, he was torn by revenge, but he wasn't this bloodthirsty killer like Moon Knight was. So I think that, coupled with what they've been doing the last 15 years with the character–going into the dissociative identity disorder, really calling in to question if everything happening is all in his head, is he actually a vigilante killer or did he die in Egypt? It brings up a slew of questions, and that to me has never really been delved into in any comic book character before–the idea of, is any of this actually happening? Is he crazy? Is he killing good people? Is he actually dead in Egypt? Those are such amazing questions and I don't feel like any comic book series before or since has really tapped into that. So for me, playing a crazy superhero would be awesome. So Moon Knight, Moon Knight for sure."

If you don't recognize his name, Marquand did a bang-up job as the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War since the company didn't bring back Hugo Weaving for the role. Marquand perfected the Matrix actor's take on the Captain America villain and even made him a bit sympathetic, being trapped in a realm after trying to possess an Infinity Stone.

While a big screen take on the street hero would be interesting, most would probably prefer it if Moon Knight were a Netflix series. Marc Spector has had plenty of run-ins with Daredevil and Spider-Man in the comics, so having him meet The Defenders or Punisher would be fun.
