Avengers: Age of Ultron Concept Art Reveals Mega Ultron Transformation

Fans have had mixed thoughts about Avengers: Age of Ultron, but most can agree that Ultron was a fun villain and he was voiced brilliantly by James Spader. The character was involved in some fun sequences, though the fights themselves did end up being too CGI-centric. It turns out that the character had another move up his arsenal but it was never used in the final film.

Age of Ultron concept artist Phil Saunders revealed that Mega Ultron was briefly considered as part of the film's climax. This isn't a fusion between Ultron and Mega Man but a giant version of the Marvel villain made up of a thousand or so Ultron bots. It definitely would have been a cool visual and it's a bit of a shame that the movie didn't go with it.

They probably stuck with The Avengers taking on the bots to give each character a moment of action, which was fine. It did make all the robots look harmless but at least we saw a few nice moves from our favorite heroes.

Would this climax have helped the movie? We'll never know. Of course, "help" is a strong word since Avengers: Age of Ultron still made a ton of money and is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
