'Avatar' Villain Stephen Lang Wants To Play Cable in The 'Deadpool' Sequel

Right before Deadpool was released in theaters, Fox already gave the green light for the sequel, and Ryan Reynolds has been teasing the appearance of Cable in the next film. Who could possibly play the warrior mutant from the New Mutants and X-Force? It looks like Avatar baddie Stephen Lang wants to land the role.

Deadpool comic book artist and writer Rob Liefield may have already told that his dream pick for Cable would be Mad Men's Jon Hamm, and although that's not entirely out of the realm of possibility, it doesn't look like Hamm will star in a superhero film anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Lang tweeted a post that campaigns to land the role for himself:

Although I don't think he's the perfect choice to play Cable, he's got the look to play the part. Director Tim Miller and Reynolds have spoken openly about their desire to include Cable in the sequel. We still don't know when Deadpool 2 will be released in theaters, but the announcement of Cable's casting shouldn't be too far off.
