Assassin's Creed Movie - First Look At Michael Fassbender as New Character

Videogame movies are on the rise. There's a Warcraft movie coming next year, and there's another film based on a game to be released next year: Assassin's Creed!

Thanks to Yahoo!, we got a first look at Michael Fassbender (X-Men, Prometheus) as Callum Lynch

Lynch is not based on any character from the games. Fassbender's character is created specifically for the movie.

Here's more info about his character via Yahoo!:

Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he's poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.

Also starring Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises), Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave), and Ariane Labed (Before Midnight), cameras start rolling for Assassin's Creed on Monday. Production will start in Malta, London, and Spain.

Assassin's Creed will hit theaters on December 21, 2016.
