Ash Ketchum From Pokemon Spotted in Subway Safety Ad

A character who resembles Ash Ketchum, the hero of the Pokemon anime who doesn't seem to get old, was seen in a Taipei subway safety poster. With his signature blue vest, red cap, and Pokeball-themed shoes, it's pretty obvious that the character is modeled after the anime's protagonist, and it looks like he went on doing his own thing without Pikachu. Check out the poster below:

The image shown in the poster was also included in the safety announcement clip, whichgives tips on good manners while riding the subway as well as safety. The other two character s shown may be based on video game chaacters as well: Kyo from King of Fighters and Sakura from Street Fighter. Check out Ash in the poster:

The announcement clilp and poster, which debuteda few years ago, are still being used in the city metro. You can watch the full clip below:

I wonder if they actually acquried to portray the character or is Taipei's copyright laws just more lenient? This is a pretty nice Easter Egg, and it reminds us how the Pokemon fandom is still phenomenal around the world.
