Arthur Curry Comes Home In Aquaman's Very First Trailer

DC fans are definitely in for a treat this week. Not only has Warner Brothers dropped the very first trailer for Captain Marvel's standalone movie Shazam! but the studio's also released the highly anticipated trailer for Aquaman.

The trailer for Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa) standalone movie first debuted at Warner Brother's panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the DC Extended Universe installment.

Running at roughly two minutes and a half, the video begins with Arthur Curry trying to explain his heritage as part human and part Atlantean, saying that his father was a simple lighthouse keeper and that his mother was a queen. After awakening to his powers during a field trip, the trailer starts picking up speed. Not only do fans get to see Aquaman paying a submarine some sort of visit, they also get to see the Atlantean meet together with Mera, saying that his half-brother Orm is preparing his army to go to war against the surface world.

"The only way to stop this war is for you to take your rightful place as king," Mera tells Curry.

From then on it's a flurry of underwater battle scenes and underwater moments. We even get to see a shot of Black Manta in the trailer.

Here's the synopsis for Aquaman:

Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.

Though it certainly seems like there's a whole a lot of CGI in the film, we can definitely feel the excitement rise as fans wait for Aquaman to swim his way to cinemas.

Aquaman premiers December 21, 2018.
