Arnold Schwarzenegger: Terminator 6 Will Ignore The Events Of Genisys

The Terminator franchise was looking to reboot itself with the release of Terminator: Genisys back in 2015, but reception for the movie was nothing but sour, and James Cameron is looking to reboot it once more with Arnold Schwarzenegger onboard. As per Schwarzenegger, T6 is going to be ignoring the events of Genisys, and will start with its own narrative.

Talking to The Terminator Fans, Schwarzenegger confirms:

"[Terminator 6 is] going to ignore Genisys."

Along with Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton a.k.a. the original Sarah Connor is also set to make an appearance for this film. T-1000 actor Robert Patrick, however, will not be involved.

As of now, specific details of the movie is under wraps, but is has been confirmed that T6 will focus on the story of a young female protagonist, and most of the characters in the film will be new, what with the returning actors taking the sideline.

With Genisys setting itself up as a new franchise, it's a shame that it didn't pull through. I imagine it must have taken a lot of thought to try and bring an old Arnold Schwarzenegger into the film as an aged T-800 and justifying how he remains looking old in future movies.

No official release date has been announced for Terminator 6, but the film is produced by James Cameron and will be directed by Deadpool helmer Tim Miller.
