Aquaman Director Adds Hype To The Film’s Upcoming Trailer Release With Exciting Photo

The Aquaman trailer might be dropping soon because director James Wan just gave fans their very first look at one of the shots in his DC Extended Universe superhero movie's upcoming promotional video.

Taking to Twitter, Wan released the very first preview image of his Aquaman trailer, and it looks like the hype over the Atlantean King's first standalone movie's growing by the minute. Not only does the director's post promise that DC fans are going to get the very first trailer for Aquaman at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International next week, it also promises a few comic book nods for everyone.

First, we get to see the original three-pronged trident in Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa) hands, a return to form after Justice League gave him a trident with five prongs instead. Another pretty neat nod to comic book fans is Aquaman's green and orange outfit – a color scheme that we've barely gotten to see in Momoa's appearances in the DCEU.

There's definitely a lot of excitement building up over Aquaman. Unlike Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the film's decided to add a splash of color into its Aquaman standalone. Looks like Warner Brothers is finally learning from its mistake, hoping that Wan's film might help turn things around for the DCEU. Let's hope it does.

Aquaman premieres December 21, 2018.
