Aquaman Concept Art Footage Teases Black Manta And Dogfights With Armored Sharks

Though Jason Mamoa's debut as DC Film's Aquaman in Batman vs. Superman didn't last for very long, everyone's excited to see the Atlantean King return to the big screen in this year's Justice League. After all, the Dothraki seahorse has had some pretty great moments in the recent Justice League trailer.

Now, to gear fans up for the Mamoa's first solo DC movie next year, Warner Bros. has decided to debut new concept art footage taken from Aquaman at this year's CinemaCon. Response to the material has been very positive and descriptions of the footage have made their way online.

According to these reports, the concept art show Black Manta, wide shots of Atlantis and huge underwater dogfights between people riding armored sharks and other creatures. The footage has been described to have a Lord of The Rings feel to it, and fans have gone off praising the accuracy of Manta's helmet design.

That's not all – according to one fan, Jason Momoa announced that he was leaving for Australia tonight to shoot Aquaman for director James Wan. The DCEU film doesn't debut till late 2018, so it comes as a pleasant surprise how eager Wan and Momoa are to work on the movie. With so much positive buzz surrounding the concept art, we certainly hope the film will deliver once it releases next year.

Aquaman premieres on December 21, 2018 however fans will see Momoa return to the big screen in Justice League which hits cinemas on November 17.
