Ant-Man And The Wasp Director Wants A Fantastic Four Crossover

Peyton Reed doesn't just want to work on another Ant-Man movie – the Marvel director is also dreaming of working on a crossover film gathering together Ant-Man and the Wasp together with the Fantastic Four.

Speaking in an interview with Forbes to talk about his upcoming film, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Reed opens up about how much he loves the Fantastic Four and how great it would be to see Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) working together with the group.

"I stand by the fact that the Fantastic Four, the comics, are the crown jewels kind of thing and that I think there is still an amazing, unbelievably great Fantastic Four movie to be made. Also, I think thematically the Ant-Man movies deal with a lot of the same things that Fantastic Four does."

However, while a Fantastic Four crossover might be possible with the Disney and Fox deal going down, Reed says there still haven't been any formal discussions about a Fantastic Four film. Still, the director thinks that as a fan of the comic book source material, it's pretty exciting to see various properties coming together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Marvel comic book fans definitely think so too, loving how Marvel was finally able to bring Spider-Man into the MCU. Now the only question is whether the X-Men and the other mutants will finally be able to join in.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theatres this Friday, July 6.
