Andy Serkis Talks About Snoke’s Circumstances in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Aside from Rey's parentage, one of the biggest questions that Star Wars: The Force Awakens left fans with when it hits cinemas back in 2015 was Snoke's true identity.

Wrinkled and menacing, Snoke seemed like a familiar, and yet, mysterious kind of villain that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) both look up to. Now fans are hoping that The Force Awakens sequel, Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have some answers for fans about Snoke and though he isn't able to give anything away, Andy Serkis tries to talk a little bit more about the Supreme Leader.

Attending a media junket for The Last Jedi, Comicbook asked Serkis about Snoke's identity and while the actor couldn't give a direct answer, he was able to talk more about the sequel trilogy's new villain.

"He's really not very happy at the beginning of the movie because these guys," he explains, pointing at his co-stars Gwendoline Christie and Gleeson, "have really screwed things up. And he's in a bad place because Starkiller Base is completely screwed and things aren't going his way. Everything's falling around his ears, the press has been terrible, and it looks like he's going to get impeached."

From the sound of things, Snoke has a lot to be frustrated about in The Force Awakens' sequel. It's no wonder that the Supreme Leader of the First Order would want to go after and destroy the Resistance.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
