Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff to Star and Produce Her Own Sci-Fi Series
Battlestar Galactica grad Katee Sackhoff will be starring in yet another sci-fi drama that’s of her own creation.
The 35-year-old actress is collaborating with Continuum producer Reunion Pictures for the new project titled Rain, according to Deadline.
Sackhoff penned the original story of Rain and she is executive producing the project via her Fly Free Productions. Leland LaBarre is working on the project as producer.
Rain is an evolutionary story that allows people a glimpse at a future where global warming’s long-term effects, fossil fuel burning, and scientific manipulation of nature have ravaged Earth. The story follow a soldier named Rain, who will be played by Sackhoff.
Reunion Pictures’ Tom Rowe stated:
With Rain, Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand.
She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her.
As for Sackhoff, the actress is excited to work with Reunion and Thunderbird:
It’s great to be in business with Reunion and Thunderbird. Their credentials in the genre are outstanding and they share my vision in telling a story that means a lot to me.
Sackhoff is currently starring in the A&E crime drama, Longmire. She also appeared in the viral short, Power/Rangers, that raked in over 15 million views. She also starred in the critically-acclaimed Oculus last year.
There aren’t any further details about Rain, but considering her repertoire, there’s much to be excited about and expected of the upcoming series.
