Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Will Be Set In Space

Fans that stuck through the final episode of Marvel's Inhumans were able to witness the first trailer for the latest season of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. The trailer will definitely impress fans with the amount of action and the new setting that was teased in the season four finale: space. While we won't see Phil Coulson team up with Star-Lord, it's an interesting enough way to mess with the series' status quo.

Considering how the last season dealt with androids, rogue A.I.'s, and Ghost Rider, this is a neat way to get fans to give the series' latest installment a chance. Some of the action we see is also pretty impressive, with teases of another alien species being introduced to the MCU. We have already seen The Kree in Agents of SHIELD, so fans of Cosmic Marvel will want to do their research.

If anything, setting the series in space sure seems timely, with Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 out this year. We'll also be getting Avengers: Infinity War next year, which will further explore the cosmic side of the MCU. Viewers at home can only hope that the latest season of the show is a big improvement over the previous one.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD season five premieres on ABC on December 1.
