Adam Warlock Might Not Appear In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

One of the post-credit stingers seen at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 revealed that Adam Warlock would be appearing in the MCU sometime in the future. Most fans assumed we would see the classic cosmic character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 since he was teased by one of the villains in Vol. 2. However, director James Gunn has revealed that plans for the character's debut are still up in the air.

Gunn revealed that there are currently no plans to debut Warlock in Avengers: Infinity War or its unnamed sequel. In fact, the scene where the character's cocoon is revealed was almost cut from the film entirely since he wouldn't be appearing in Infinity War. While the director has expressed love for the Infinity Watch character, he states that the time must be right for his eventual reveal.

Adam Warlock might not be as iconic as Spider-Man or Captain America, but he has left a big impact in Jim Starlin's various Infinity comics, including Infinity Gauntlet. The character has had epic battles with Thanos and was even a member of the Guardians with Star-Lord, Gamora, and the rest of the group. It's easy to see why fans want to see him in the MCU, but it looks like the studio has to figure out what they want to do with the cosmic character.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be one of the Phase Four MCU films. Avengers: Infinity War is slated for a May 4, 2018, release.
