Academy Award-Winning Danny Boyle Officially Announced as Bond 25 Director

After various reports and rumors, it was finally confirmed that Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle will be helming the 25th James Bond film, which many are calling Bond 25. This will be the fifth James Bond film that will star Daniel Craig and is the first installment from Boyle. That's not all either, as the film also gets a release and production date.

Deadline reports that the film will start production on December 3 this year and is set for release in the UK on October 25, 2019, and November 8, 2019. No other details have been revealed on the plot or villain but we can expect those soon since filming does start this year.

While Daniel Craig returning should be a popular decision with fans, it's also a bit controversial. The actor had previously stated that he would rather cut his wrists than play Bond again, so the fact that he accepted a return is a shocking one. Hopefully, he's being paid well and is given a better script since Spectre was not very good.

It's worth noting that Spectre gave Bond a slightly happy ending, as he drove off with Lea Seydoux's character. Now that a new film has been confirmed, it will be interesting to see if the actress returns or not.
