A New Avengers 4 Fan Theory Explains How Loki Could Officially Return To The MCU

While fans are expecting Avengers 4 to resurrect the Marvel heroes that were killed in the throes of Avengers: Infinity War, no one is expecting Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to be among those who return to the living world in the second half of the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie.

Everyone who's seen Infinity War knows that while heroes like Spider-Man (Tom Hiddleston) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) turn into dust at the end of the film Loki dies directly at the hands of Thanos during the very opening act of the movie.

Still, while no one really expects Loki to be one of those resurrected at the end of Avengers 4, a new theory proposes the Asgardian God Of Thunder could make his way back to the land of the living through another way.

Back in May, Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett and a full-scale model of Rocket Raccoon were spotted on the set of Avengers 4 at Durham castle. Though it might be hard to tell what the scene is for in second and final Avengers movie in Marvel's two-part film, Thompson, Hemsworth, and Blanchett all have ties to Tho: Ragnarok to try to use a cave that might help them travel through dimensions.

According to Reddit user IonMoone 13, this is what the scene means:

"I propose that the reason Thor, Rocket, Valkyrie, and Hela are all there at the church once more is to gain access to the cave that Thor used in Age of Ultron with Erik Selvig," the Marvel fan writes in his post. "To use it in some way to allow Thor to travel to Hel and confront Hela who is trapped or residing down there once more after her defeat in Thor Ragnarok to help him bring their brother Loki back from the dead."

Though the scene has yet to receive any confirmation from Marvel, it'd definitely be interesting to see Thor and Valkyrie travel to Hel just so that they could bring back Loki from the dead. What could the Asgardian God of Mischief really do to contribute in the fight against Thanos – would Loki die again?

Who knows really. We'll probably have to just wait and see.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 03, 2019.
